Colt’s Fund for Student Athletes Impacted by Cancer
In the vast ocean of humanity, certain individuals shine brightly as beacons of hope and compassion. One such individual is Colt Sowards, a young man whose relentless dedication to supporting cancer patients has touched the hearts of many, including 4Amanda.org.
Colt's journey towards becoming a champion for cancer patients began with a deeply personal experience of cancer in his own family, and the passing of a football coach at his local middle school.
Colt is a national standout football player for the Tri-State Lumberjacks, a nonprofit travel football organization representing the best athletes of WV, KY, OH, and he wanted to make an impact on the lives of children whose families are fighting cancer.
Colt knew how expensive youth sports can be, and for families fighting cancer those costs can be prohibitive. So, Colt sought the guidance of his Father, Harry Sowards III, and said “let’s get this done.”
We couldn’t put it any better than that, and we’ve teamed with Colt to ‘get this done.’
Sadly, with 1 in 5 Americans impacted by cancer, chances are you either helped in the fight or are currently fighting cancer with someone you dearly love or admire, just like Colt.
Colt wanted a connection to the game he loves in his philanthropy, so the idea of people wearing custom football jerseys reading the names of cancer patients fighting the disease, or in memoriam, filling the stadiums he travels to play at made perfect sense to him as a way to raise money.
We love the idea!
As Colt continues his journey of advocacy and compassion, his efforts serve as a powerful reminder that one person truly can make a difference. Through his unwavering dedication to supporting cancer patients and their families, Colt Sowards exemplifies the best of humanity and inspires us all to strive for a world where compassion reigns supreme, and no one faces the battle against cancer alone.
For those reasons, we can think of no better way to honor his service than naming this effort Colt’s Fund for Student Athletes Impacted by Cancer, and you can help Colt ‘get this done’ HERE.
